Icons

by Tom Carter and Softdisk Staff

Nothing humanizes computing quite like customizing things. That's why Microsoft decided to let you customize all your icons. Whenever you get tired with how a program's icon looks, change it! Also, while Windows applications generally have their own custom icons, DOS-based programs don't, and when you place them on your Windows Program Manager screen, they have only the boring generic icons that Windows provides. Softdisk's icon sets, such as this one, give you more choices.

The icons for this issue are in the file ICONS050.DLL. You can press the How to Use button at the bottom of this page for more information on how to load and use them. There is an Install button on the issue's Launch Pad (press ALT+TAB to load it) if you wish to copy the icons to a new location. Windows 95 users can simply click the Launch Pad icon on the Task Bar.
